Motorola launches new foldable 5G phone with 8.1-inch screen and 50MP camera

Motorola just dropped their first book-style foldable today, at CES 2026 called Motorola Razr Fold and it is a game-changer from the classic clamshell Razrs with its massive 8.09-inch inner screen, powered by beastly Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.

Standout Specs:

The newly launched smartphone is packed with 8.09-inch LTPO OLED display at 2200*2480 with 120Hz smoothness, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ along with a handy 6.56-inch cover screen for quick checks. It comes with a triple 50MP camera setup(with OIS, 3x periscope telephoto, ultra wide), 20MP inner selfie and a 32MP cover cam which can shoot 8K Dolby Vision videos. Talking OS-wise, it comes with Android 16 with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB of storage. It comes with IP48 rating along with stylus support and Moto AI tricks like voice-activated cover screen use.
Design vibes:
It ditches the flip for a sleek book-fold that opens flat with barely any crease, thanks to a tough titanium hinge. Flex View lets you prop it up hands-free, and colors like Pantone Blackened Blue and Lily White give it that premium, stylish edge which is perfect for standing out.
Price & When to buy it:
Looking at around $1,500 globally(around ₹1.25-1.6 lakh in India), it’s premium but will be launched in Q3 2026 worldwide, with US sales starting March. India details are fuzzy, no Online listings yet, unlike other cheaper options like Razr flips at ₹80k.
Why it rocks and fails:
It can prove to be a killer for content creators because of its huge screen, pro cameras AI for notifications and quick tasks shine in content workflows.
But, it also comes with downsides such as it’s price in a crowded foldable world, crease might bug perfectionists.
